Asian College of Teachers always gives its employees a chance to develop and succeed and as a result has been investing in their future with training and development. The latest being the Leadership Training that took place at ACT Kolkata on 23rd of February ’19. The training was an interactive session and was conducted by an external trainer Ms. Pinky Dhar.
The role of managers is expanding and they are being expected to fit into leadership roles. To get their footing and achieve the team's goal a proper synchronisation among the members of a team initiated by the team leader is very much required. This calls for fresh perspectives into new approaches which need to be nurtured and this remained the main focus of the session.
The training started with a SWOT analysis of the participants and continued with discussing the aspects of SMART goals, different behavioural patterns of a leader and principles of leadership. The session also highlighted Belbin’s theory and its effectiveness in the active role playing of team members along with the leader. The role of communication in the proper functioning of a team was also discussed. The session got wrapped up with time management and various other activities which made the session all the more interesting and informative.
The session was an effort in providing the employees to not only help develop the leadership skills but to implement those in order to contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation.
