ACT aims to increase awareness on SEN with its seminar in Bangkok

Asian College of Teachers organized a one-day interactive seminar on SEN in the Thai capital city of Bangkok titled "Managing Students with Special Needs in Inclusive Classrooms" on 9th March, 2019 at JL Bangkok Hotel in Bangkok.

The seminar focussed on important areas related to SEN including recognizing learners with different learning abilities. Today’s teachers need to have an understanding of the learning needs and be sensitive in their approach towards learners. This workshop addresses such needs where the teachers can gain skills to use diverse and varied ways to identify and deal with symptoms related to ADHD and Autism in inclusive classrooms. Other disabilities like Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome were also highlighted to make the participants aware of the symptoms and SEN teaching strategies like differentiated learning and IEP, learning to manage common behavioural challenges in the classroom, etc.

A total of 16 participants from all over the world attended the seminar who shared their experiences and stories. Moreover, there was focussed interaction and discussions even while having lunch together which made the seminar a great success.
