ACT symposium on 21st Century Transformational Teaching Methods and Standards in Kolkata is a great success

The one-day symposium on 21st Century Transformational Teaching Methods and Standards conducted at Radisson Ballygunge in Kolkata on 13th April, 2019 turned out to be a huge success with great turnout. Our present students and alumni attended our program with a lot of zest and enthusiasm where the topics discussed the paradigm shift in today’s learning environment with a focus on Transformational Teaching. The speakers for the day included distinguished personalities from various field of education, viz.
o Mr.Atanu Roy -Vice-President, Amity University (ADDOE), who discussed about Amity and ACT & Amity Educational Partnership & “The changing landscape of 21st century Online Education in Asia”
o Dr. Arna Seal - Sociologist & Educationist, gave a remarkable presentation on “Who is a 21st century teacher?”
o Mr Kalpesh Amin - Master Trainer, Cambridge Assessment English, again made an excellent presentation on “Preparing Learners for the 21st Century” and thoroughly discussed the 21st century learning methodologies
o Ms. Saraswathi Sudhakar - Consultant – South & East India, Cambridge Assessment English, gave a presentation on “Cambridge TKT & Linguaskill” and discussed the importance of appearing for the Cambridge TKT
o Ms. Janat Blackmon - PYP International Baccalaureate Educator, Bangkok, very skilfully gave an insightful presentation on two very important topics – “Research-Based Instructional Methodology” and “The Future of Curriculum”
All the participants seemed to really enjoy the discussions that ensued presentations as the speakers engaged the participants thoroughly. The question and answer session where our students were encouraged to ask questions and have their doubts and queries answered to them by our esteemed speakers, helped them to have a clearer picture of the 21st century education system and the role of today’s teachers. The participants found the symposium to be really helpful for their career growth wherein the information that they gathered there would help them to move ahead in their career as a 21st century teacher. The symposium ended with the Convocation ceremony where ACT graduates were formally recognized and felicitated as they were handed over the graduation certificates. All graduates also got the opportunity to celebrate their graduation by wearing graduation caps and having a group photo clicked with Dr Sanjib Chakraborty, Dean and Lead Trainer, Asian College of Teachers and Ms. Janat Blackmon, one of our keynote speakers.
