After Kolkata ACT Bengaluru receives extraordinary response at the Symposium on 21st Century Transformational Teaching Methods and Standards

The Bengaluru leg of the ACT’s one-day symposium on ‘21st Century Transformational Teaching Methods and Standards’ conducted at Taj MG Road in Bengaluru on 20th April, 2019 received remarkable response from all the participants. ACT’s present students and alumni attended the program with great enthusiasm to listen to the speakers from various fields of education who provided a deeper insight into the field of Transformational Teaching. Presentations made by the speakers reflected the theme of the symposium along with beautiful take home messages for the teachers/ aspiring teachers to make a difference in the lives of the learners. The speakers for the day included:

ü Mr. Atanu Roy - Vice-President, Amity University (ADDOE), informed about Amity and ACT & Amity Educational Partnership focussing on “The changing landscape of 21st century Online Education in Asia”

ü Ms. Aarti C Rajaratnam - Psychologist, Author, NLP Master Practitioner & Trainer, Innovative Curriculum Design Consultant gave an interesting presentation on “Every Learner in My Classroom”

ü Ms. Uma K Raman - Master Trainer & Examination Trainer, Cambridge ESOL examinations and Consultant with Cambridge Assessment English, provided an excellent perspective on “Preparing Learners for the 21st Century” and thoroughly discussed the 21st century learning methodologies

ü Ms. Saraswathi Sudhakar - Consultant – South & East India, Cambridge Assessment English, gave a presentation on “Cambridge TKT & Linguaskill” and discussed the importance of appearing for the Cambridge TKT

ü Dr. Siavash Vali - President, CEO, TESOL Canada provided an insight into “Technological Advancement in Transformational Teaching, Web-Based Learning, and Online Teaching Employments”

ü Ms. Janat Blackmon - PYP International Baccalaureate Educator, Bangkok, very skilfully gave a thoughtful presentation on “The Future of Curriculum”

ü Dr Margaret Davitt Maughan - Associate Academic Director, USA, Asian College of Teachers, put forth a discussion on “Research-Based Instructional Methodology”

The speakers engaged the participants throughout as they gained knowledge of the 21st century teaching methodologies. It was an interactive session and the participants opined that the symposium extremely helpful in the context of their career as an educator in the 21st century. The day ended on a sweet and memorable note as Dr. Siavash Vali (President & CEO of TESOL Canada) felicitated the ACT graduates by handing over TESOL Canada certificates to the candidates who successfully cleared the TESOL Canada Board Exam. The much awaited Convocation Ceremony was the wrap-up of the symposium as the graduates got the opportunity to celebrate their graduation by wearing graduation gowns and caps and clicking pictures with Dr Sanjib Chakraborty, Dean and Lead Trainer, Asian College of Teachers, Dr Margaret Davitt Maughan, Associate Academic Director, USA, Asian College of Teachers and Dr. Siavash Vali, President & CEO of TESOL Canada.
