ACT Kathmandu Symposium on Holistic Learning was a Great Success

It’s that time of the year again! Asian College of Teachers is hosting a string of symposiums in February 2020 in Nepal, India and Thailand. The theme of the symposium is "Holistic Learning, Effective Lesson Planning and Authentic Assessment" which will witness a gathering of noted academicians, educational leaders, teaching professionals and aspiring and working teachers. It all started in Nepal where the first symposium was held on 1st February in Kathmandu. The keynote speaker for the event was Dr Margaret Davitt Maughan, Associate Academic Director, USA, Asian College of Teachers who gave a detailed presentation on Authentic Assessment and Lesson Planning. The event also featured presentations from noted educationists in Nepal like Prof. Dr Mana Prasad Wagle, the former dean of the Faculty of Education, Kathmandu University and one of the prominent educationists in the country who spoke on Holistic Learning followed by Mr. Medin Lamichhane who shed light on Assessments in Nepal and way forward. They were also joined by Dr Meenakshi Dahal, a child development expert whose work focuses on holistic development of a child, instructional design and quality of education. The Kathmandu Symposium served as the platform to bring together the educational experts of Nepal to share their knowledge, thoughts and best practices in the arena of holistic learning.
