ACT conducted an exclusive session on how to make STEM education fun

Asian College of Teachers (ACT) has successfully conducted an online seminar on STEM for the continuous professional development of teachers on 23rd September, 2022. The session “Fun with STEM” (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) was facilitated by expert teacher trainer Ms. Manju Chakrawati having more than 13 years of teaching experiences in international schools in Mumbai, ex-acting Principal & Lecturer at Vidya Vikas Universal College, Mumbai; currently, a teacher trainer and heading a Middle School in Bangalore. STEM is an integral part of 21st century curriculum, that requires teachers to have clear concepts of STEM and the requisite skills to introduce fun STEM elements in a young learner’s classroom. The training introduced the attendees to the concept of making STEM learning fun for young children and developing skills in teachers who can encourage learners to think critically, logically, and creatively in a stimulating learning environment. The informative and interactive online session conducted by Ms. Chakrawati explored the various aspects of STEM and its significance in education. It also threw light on 2C's in Curriculum with STEM, the "Q" Factor in the STEM process, Observation Centre and its importance, Integration of disciplines and subjects, the ways to create a STEM unit in regular curriculum or course etc. The training session wrapped up with the attendees’ queries which were met with edifying answers from the facilitator, thus sealing the session with a great integration of knowledge which immensely helped the participants.
