ACT Conducted an Engaging Teacher Workshop at South City International School

Asian College of Teachers conducted an interactive workshop on 'Implementing Instructional Strategies for 21st Century Classrooms' at South City International School in Kolkata on 3rd December, 2022. The workshop focused on Instructional Strategies for pre-primary, primary and secondary teachers. It was an extremely interactive session with about 40 Teachers along with the respective Heads of the Departments present for the same. The discussions were triggered around 21st Century learners and how teachers can create an inspiring learner centred education system keeping the 21st century learners in mind. The discussion further focussed on what is meant by instructional strategy and if any strategies are followed in the classroom.

The workshop was also full of activities based on ‘Six Thinking Hats’ which is an instructional strategy by Edward De Bono, as per which, the teachers were divided into 6 teams, representing the 6 coloured Hats. Further, keeping the colour specific responsibilities as per the theory, the workshop saw engaging group discussions and presentations on the topic – ‘How would you implement 21st century skills in your classroom using technology?’ It even had fun ‘Ice Breaker’ activities in the beginning and open house sessions towards the end. The session wrapped on a positive note thus sealing the session with a great integration of knowledge which immensely helped the attendees.

The workshop was applauded by the attendees and received excellent feedback in both written and video formats. Asian College of Teachers looks forward to more such edifying sessions replete with the basic objective of making 21st century educators feel confident and develop relevant strategies in today’s classrooms.
