ACT Conducted an Interactive TEFL TESOL Orientation Workshop for Martin Luther Christian University Students

Asian College of Teachers (ACT) conducted a TEFL/TESOL Orientation Workshop at ACT Centre in Kolkata on 6th February, 2023. The workshop was attended by 47 participants who are pursuing Master’s Course from the School of Language and Literary Studies, Martin Luther Christian University in Shillong, Meghalaya.
The workshop was extremely interactive as 47 attendees interacted with our facilitators, their peers and also collaborated for various activities. The topics covered in the workshop began with the fundamentals such as Introduction to TEFL, Why TEFL?, Difference between EFL and ESL etc. followed by activities on context setting, 21st century skills, why it is important for teachers to adapt to the changing scenarios in the field of education. The next phase comprised Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW) activities. The workshop ended with a session on job opportunities and placement services. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and spoke highly of it as they feel more confident now that they are equipped with useful knowledge. The orientation program on TEFL/TESOL helped them gain an insight to help them to venture into new pathways to achieve their professional goals.
ACT conducted this workshop in collaboration with Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, which had its humble beginning as a primary University way back in 2006.
