ACT Hosts an Interactive Session for ITD Graduates in Collaboration with Breaking Through Dyslexia

25th September 2024

Asian College of Teachers (ACT) successfully conducted a campus drive cum interactive session in collaboration with Breaking Through Dyslexia, a non-profit educational organisation working towards assessing and facilitating remedial assistance to children with Learning Disabilities. The session aimed at International Teaching Diploma (ITD) graduates for the positions of Inclusive Educators. The event, held at ACT’s Kolkata office on 19th September, 2024, provided an excellent platform for ACT’s ITD graduates to embark on their teaching careers, with an opportunity to focus on inclusive education. ACT’s International Teaching Diploma (ITD) course is renowned for its comprehensive curriculum, designed to meet the needs of the modern, 21st-century classroom. The program not only equips graduates with the latest teaching techniques but also incorporates essential knowledge in Special Education, a critical component in today’s global educational landscape. This specialization makes ACT’s ITD graduates highly sought-after for roles as inclusive educators, ready to address the diverse needs of students with varying abilities. A significant advantage for ACT’s ITD graduates is the accreditation of the program by the World Certification Institute (WCI), a globally recognized certifying body. This accreditation enhances the credibility of the ITD course and gives ACT graduates a competitive edge in the job market. Breaking Through Dyslexia, a niche non-profit educational organisation established in June 2009 and based in Kolkata, played a key role in this recruitment drive. The organization focuses on addressing dyslexia and related learning challenges, offering remedial assistance to children and support for parents. Through group discussions, workshops, training modules, and counselling sessions, Breaking Through Dyslexia works to raise awareness and provide solutions for children facing learning difficulties. The interactive session cum campus drive is yet another testament to ACT’s commitment to creating skilled and knowledgeable educators who are prepared to make a difference in inclusive classrooms. The interactive session underscores ACT’s dedication to bridging the gap between educational needs and teacher preparation, fostering a community of inclusive educators equipped to transform the lives of students globally.
