18th February 2025

Asian College of Teachers (ACT) reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive work environment by organizing a Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) training session for male employees at its Kolkata center in January, 2025. The session, led by Ms. Jhuma Bhattacharyya, an experienced HR practitioner and certified POSH trainer, aimed to empower employees with essential knowledge and awareness about sexual harassment in the workplace.
The training covered a wide range of critical topics, including an introduction to POSH and its significance, acts classified under POSH regulations, and the roles of internal and external committees in addressing complaints. Participants also learned about gestures and body language that fall under the purview of POSH, behaviours not classified under the act, and best practices for maintaining a healthy and respectful work environment.
The training was a vital step in ensuring that all employees are well-informed about their roles and responsibilities in upholding workplace safety. By conducting this insightful session, ACT demonstrated its dedication to ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace. The initiative is part of the institution’s broader commitment to the well-being of its workforce and the cultivation of a culture rooted in mutual respect and accountability.
