27th February 2025

Asian College of Teachers (ACT) reinforced its commitment to workplace safety by organizing a Workplace Fire and Safety Training at its Kolkata center in January 2025. The session, conducted by certified fire safety officer Mr. Shaileswar Biswas, aimed to educate employees on fire prevention measures and equip them with essential skills to handle fire emergencies effectively.
The training covered a range of critical topics, including fire prevention strategies, identification of fire types, and appropriate response techniques. Employees gained hands-on experience in extinguishing minor fires, understanding fire hazards, and using different types of fire extinguishers. Mr. Biswas also provided a comprehensive evacuation safety plan, guiding employees on safe evacuation procedures, managing hazardous situations, and preventing future fire incidents. He further demonstrated the proper use of stretchers and wheelchairs during emergency evacuations, along with key do’s and don’ts in case of a fire-related crisis.
The session heightened awareness of ACT’s fire safety policies while providing employees with practical knowledge and hands-on training to handle real-world emergencies. ACT remains dedicated to fostering a safe and secure workplace, ensuring that all employees are well-prepared to respond to any safety challenges that may arise.
